Passion 4 Life – Helping Those With Health Issues
The major problem that we have these days is that most people think that the medical world can perform miracles. It is just a case of visiting a doctor, he writes out a prescription, and then a miracle cure occurs. This is far from the truth, people have too much faith in what the medical world can do. The main thought is that there is a cure for everything, when in reality, we have a cure for very little.
Millions of people suffer from autoimmune diseases, and these can be difficult to manage, let alone cure. These conditions can be very debilitating, and usually require constant medication. For those who live in areas with no healthcare, or just cannot afford it, they will spend their lives in constant pain. We can even have situations where a person is getting thousands of dollars of treatment, while someone who lives in the same road, with exactly the same condition, gets nothing. Is this really a free and fair society?
There are a lot of charities around these days which help people in areas like Africa, and yet in many western countries, there are people worse off than those in Africa. This is not to say that we should not be helping these people in other countries, we should, but we also need to spread the medical wealth around a bit more fairly. Due to the way that many governments and big pharma work, this is easier said than done.
As individuals, there is something that we can do though. We can check that family, friends and neighbors are not struggling with a health issue. If they are, then we should do what we can to help them. When it comes to old people, sometimes just sitting with them for an hour is all they need to perk up, research has shown that this can help them both mentally and physically.
When it comes to severely disabled people, they could have kids that have no life as they are the main carers. Giving them a helping hand can make a huge difference to their lives. There will be a person with a health problem in every road, making sure that they are fine is not only the right thing to do, but it also helps to put compassion back in societies that have been losing it.
